Bill and Joanne Jones will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary April 25 with a picnic at Green Valley Park. They were married in Prescott on April 22, 1950 and lived in Arizona and California before becoming permanent residents of Payson in 1960. Bill was the general foreman for Arizona Public Service in Payson before retiring in 1989. Joanne began working for the Payson School District as a secretary in 1962, and eventually became the district office manager. She retired from the school district in 1972 and opened The Moppet Shop, a children’s clothing store until retiring for good in 1989. She also served on the Payson School Board for many years. Bill and Joanne enjoy life with their daughter Cindy, son-in-law John Lewis, and their four grandchildren, Logan, Brianna, Connor and McKenzie Lewis, who attend universities in Arizona and Texas. Friends of the couple are invited to the picnic. Bring a lawn chair and appetite at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 25 at Green Valley Park.
