Couples announcements June 22, 2012



Janecek and Janecek

James and Mari Janecek celebrated 45 years of marriage June 17, 2012. They were married in Milwaukee, Wis. three months after Jim completed four years in the U.S. Navy. They have two sons, Robert and Jason, and a granddaughter, Jordan, who all reside in Arizona. The couple moved to Payson five years ago from the Valley and continues to enjoy each other and the many friends in their lives.


Stevens and Stephens

Mr. and Mrs. Wendell L. and Catherine Stevens of Payson would like to announce the marriage of their son, Eric Day Stevens, to Megan Leigh Stephens, daughter of James and Connie Stephens of Kingman. The couple was wed on June 2, 2012 in Gold Canyon. The bride is a 2000 graduate of Kingman High School, and a 2003 graduate of Northern Arizona University with a bachelor’s of science degree in hotel and restaurant management. She is employed as a director of sales and marketing for Texas Western Hospitality in Chandler. The groom is a 1997 graduate of Payson High School, and a 2004 graduate of the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s of science degree in agricultural education. He is employed as a high school agriculture teacher in the Agua Fria Union High School District in Goodyear. The couple will reside in Phoenix with their two dogs, Memphis and Reggie Ray.


Phillips and Valead

Mr. and Mrs. CR and Gail Hewlett of Payson are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Michael Phillips to Brittany Valead, daughter of Allen and Diane Valead of Glendale.  The prospective groom is a graduate of Ironwood High School and is employed by Macayo’s Restaurant. The bride graduated from Skyline High School and is employed by Wells Fargo. A March wedding is planned. The couple will live in Glendale.
