Bob and June Rusch were married on Sept. 11, 1948 in Milwaukee, Wis. They met in September 1946, when Bob returned home from World War II Navy duty aboard the destroyer DD884. They have four children, three grandchildren, and five great-grand children. Traveling the U.S.A became a vacation adventure, visiting all 48 states, Hawaii and Alaska. Bob retired, after working 40 years with Wisconsin Electric Power Co. where he was the Electrical Construction Foreman for the corporate building in downtown Milwaukee. The Ruschs moved to Phoenix in 1987 and to Payson in 1991. They became active in the community. Bob helped build the first Habitat for Humanity home in Payson. June played flute with the Rim Civic Orchestra. They created the Senior Center “Old-Time Music Makers” and were charter members of the Payson Classic Car Club. They enjoyed rock club and the garden club. June taught a Mid-Eastern Dance Exercise Class at the Senior Circle. Bob has been a Mason for 60 years and was recently honored by the Payson Harrison Masonic Lodge #70 for his service of 15 years as Tyler. They are looking forward to a future with family and friends.
Tom and Marilyn (Cusic) Huffman of Payson will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 13 with family and friends. They were married in Topeka, Kan. in Marilyn’s home church on Sept. 13, 1953. They lived in Denver, Colo. while Tom attended the University of Denver. He graduated in 1957 with a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering. Marilyn was employed as a secretary at the university. After two years in New Jersey, where Tom was employed by RCA, they moved to Phoenix in 1959. Tom was employed by Motorola, Inc. for 30 years. Upon retiring, they moved to Payson in 1993. They were blessed with four children: Michael (deceased); Linda Huffman, Mountain Home, Idaho; Douglas Huffman (Kelly), Placerville, Calif.; and Carol (Steve) Johnson, Chandler, Ariz. They have been blessed with four grandchildren: Sarah Snyder and James (Lexie) Snyder of Tacoma, Wash.; and Matthew and Jenna Johnson of Chandler, Ariz. They enjoyed camping, hiking and fishing in Arizona and sightseeing in many states as well as trips to England, Europe and Israel. Both of them have been active in their church in Bible teaching and women’s ministries. God has richly blessed them with loving family and many friends.
Nolan and Curtis
Don and Juline Curtis announce the marriage of their daughter Katelyn to Ethan Nolan. Katelyn is a 2012 graduate of Payson High School. She will graduate in December 2013 with her associate’s degree from Eastern Arizona College. Ethan is a graduate from Wilcox High School in 2010. He is currently attending EAC. A reception will be held at the LDS Church, 913 S. Ponderosa St., Payson, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20.
