Question of the week
What is the most important issue in Payson? The economic state of the schools, or the economic state of the county?

Say what?
That's what I said: The man is right!
About what?
About his call in his State of the Union speech for more nuclear power and increased off-shore drilling.
Only one thing: The Democrats are generally opposed to such moves. Obama may have a hard time getting anything done. Nevertheless, he deserves a pat on the back for what he said.

He says it, but won't force the issue. The anti Nuke contingent would not approve!

I can't recall the exact name given to the oil field under our corn fields in the midwest, but instead of off-shore drilling, why not go after that massive collection of black gold? Can you imagine how quickly our nation could recover by bringing up that crude at a cost marginal to what we're being forced to pay now?
If I can locate the article, I'll post that later. Headed to the valley for parts installation on my steel stallion.

Thanks. Like to read it.

Guess we'll have to adopt a “wait and see attitude.”

By the way, does anybody know why the “ant-nuke” folks are anti nuke?

Three Mile Island and the Sierra Club.

The Sierra Club should move to Mars and work on the red planet while it's still pristine. I would be willing to pay my share of the fares if they promised to take the whole lot of them—and stay there.
Three Mile Island is an example of safety measures that prevented a disaster. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
A gas operated power plant in CT just blew up. Are we against methane now?

Don't the garbage dumps produce methane gas?
What is that burning at the Reservation dump on the Beeline just before you get to Gilbert Rd?

Sho do.
“What is that burning at the Reservation dump on the Beeline just before you get to Gilbert Rd?”
Dunno. Politicians trying to get rid of the evidence?

It is methane gas dummy. (:
Or some kind of gas and they don't want the whole dump to burn so they release it thru a big pipe.
You usually can't see it in the daytime but at night it is a pretty blue flame.

“…it is a pretty blue flame.”
That's a good clue that it may be methane. Methane, if given sufficient oxygen, burns with a pale blue flame.
You didn't say it was coming out of a pipe. Seems wasteful if they're generating it and not using it for something useful
