    Fred,
Don't think so about the scare tactics.
Some 'nitwit genius' at town hall thinks the bridge brings in millions of dollars to town so lets fire a cop or fireman and help the state out by keeping it open.
Who is going to pay for the liability insurance?

According to Corporation Commission records the sole member of
The Friends of the Tonto Natural Bridge State Park LLC is
    Arizona State Parks Foundation.
Am I missing something or being misinformed by the letter to the editor in tonight's paper signed by Bill L. Ensign?

Does it seem odd to anyone but me the front page of tonights paper had a picture of two police officers and a big article about Cuts hit Cops Hard? Meaning ban on overtime that has cut thier salaries and reduced the number of officers on some shifts.
    AND.
Just beneath it is an article, Payson saves Tonto Bridge State Park.
The town will provide $25,000 to offset the operating loss of the arch.
The town has already pledged $17,000 to get the park through the summer.

What is wrong with our so called town leaders? Are they forgetting to take thier mental health pills?

Pat, I've wondered about the Tonto Bridge State Park being funded. I've read numerous articles in the Roundup about the park being closed. Were these articles part of the scare tactic to pass the tax measures?

    WantToKnow (Barbara Rasmussen) says…

Recently when a caller to the local radio show asked the Mayor a question about the Tonto Bridge and taxpayer's dollars he stated that no taxpayer's monies would go to saving the Bridge. So where did the money come from? Did they mysteriously find it just laying around? Also an interesting article online about our State Parks. This article states that costs for the Natural Bridge exceeds revenues by $541,000! Seems strange that it can bring in 3.65 million dollars and yet is in the hole by over half a million. Something just doesn't add up.

    Barbara,
Maybe the mayor is using some of his personal money to keep the Bridge open.
Didn't he give money for the new rodeo alliance last year?
Don't forget all the money the Bridge brings to the businessess in
    Payson. (:
Maybe a few stops at the fast food places.

    Barbara,
I think the 3.65 million dollars is what Payson collects from visitors going thru town.
If the bridge really had 93,000 visitors at $10.00 each that is less than a million dollar income at the bridge and we both know not all those people spent enough money in Payson to bring that up to 3.65 million dollars for the businesses here.
    Government arithmetic.
