Decided to start something on YMCA on sports thread.
That is what it is all about, isn't it?
Basketball, swimming, climbing walls and working out in a gym.
Why doesn't the town keep the 5 acres and put in more ramadas, volley ball courts, badmiton nets, and make thier own climbing wall. I don't approve of the climbing wall because of someone getting hurt and the liability, but guess they can get hurt tripping over a rock on the ground.
You can get your foot broken with ice cream falling out of a freezer at Walmart. (:
There is a small natural hill they can run up and down already there.
Some of the improvements could be done by volunteer work or paid for by the Friends of Payson Parks and Rec.
FPPR had $20,000 to blow on YMCA phase 2.
None of the above would infringe on the private businesses that have worked so hard to build up a clientele.
Wasn't the Memorial Wall at Green Valley Park done by volunteers? Also a lot of the improvements at the event center?
