Unless you are me and have the wrong e-mail address in the record. “Andy” from the Payson Roundup didn't return my call today. I will try to get him tomorrow. I bet I will probably have to re register. O well.

Just read this on NPR site. Looks like something to be very wary of.
“It's fun to brag when you're at a great bar or going off on vacation. Social networking sites and location-based apps have made it easy to broadcast that kind of information to your friends. The problem is that you may not just be making your friends jealous, but supplying criminals with useful information as well.”
“A new Web site called PleaseRobMe.com has drawn attention to the issue by repurposing posts from foursquare, a social networking site that lets people share the latest about their whereabouts. PleaseRobMe demonstrates that it's easy for anyone to find out you're not at home — and therefore, are presenting an “opportunity” for burglary.”
Something to think about, isn't it? Might not be too wise to post the fact that you are going out of town on any of the forums.
Especially you, Pat. You've mentioned it a few times, and so have several other people. All some creep has to do is scan the forums, look up addresses, and have at it.
If we want someone to know something like that we can always click on the person's name and send a through-the-Roundup e-mail.

Tom,
Have I said I was going to be out of town or do I post that I am back from Mesa?
I have tried to be careful and not let any of you know when I am going out of town. (:
Most people that read whats on here and 1/2 the police force know where I live, my phone number and the cars I drive.
If anyone broke into my house they wouldn't find much as I have given my keepsakes and valuables to my kids.
A lot of people put on thier answering machines they are out of town and will call when they get back.
dumb dumb

Amen!
“If anyone broke into my house they wouldn't find much…”
Yeah. Anyway, old Will Shakespeare said it all didn't he? Though I will say I always wondered about that Shakespearean line, “He who steals my purse steals trash.”
What was with old Will anyway? Carrying a purse I mean? Was he one of “those?” And was it one of those silk purses made of sow's ears? If it was, how much could he have carried in it after all? Maybe he just used it as a snuff box. Or maybe he just carried his stash in it. If that's true why didn't he say, “He who steals my purse steals sh-t?” Was there censorship back in his day too?
I hate it when people leave things so open-ended, don't you?
And yes, I have finally lost it.

Tom,
Haven't you noticed how many men have been wearing fanny packs and carrying big purses the last 10 yrs and they aren't all one of “those” .
Don't feel bad I think we have all lost it, if we ever had it to begin with. (:

Tom, maybe your suggestion 'he who steals–––––––” wouldn't fit into Will's idea of iambic pentameter (although I think he could have gotten away with it — because as I was told the his audience was quite often quite bawdy )but how would all those English teachers explain and what would parents say about their children having to read such stuff.
P. S. I bet Will had lace on his shirt, too.

Says who?

Point well taken.

Tsk! Tsk! You've been looking at the pictures of him.
Ever heard the story about Grinling Gibbons? He was the guy who carved so many of those beautiful wooden frames during the Christopher Wren era. Much of his work is in the cathedrals of London. Someone (I'm not sure who, but it may have been Samuel Johnson) referred to him (in his presence) as no more than a crudely dressed craftsman. At a party a week or so later, Gibbons came in with the most gorgeous piece of six inch high lace around his neckanyone had ever seen. When the same person saw it and commented on its beauty, he took it off. He had carved it.
It's in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, in the gallery just off to the left of the main door, close to one of Gibbon's frames, and not far from the carving of the Agony of Saint Matthew (who was shot full of arrows by the Romans). If you get to the Great Bed of Ware, turn around; you missed the lace carving. If the V&A has moved it you're in trouble. The place is 18 acres of great art.
