I dropped off a prescription yesterday about 3:30 pm was told it would be ready in less than an hour.
I went to pick it up today about 2:00 pm.
Was told they didn't have it and couldn't get the brand name. I cannot take the generic. Wouldn't you think they would have called me and told me they didn't have it?
Went to another pharmacy was told the same thing. Called two others and the last one finally told me they would not keep the brand name drug only generic as insurance will not pay for the brand name.
So now I have to wait for the medicine until I go to Mesa on Monday.
Be loyal, buy local my a—.
Only one out of 4 would tell me the truth.

Thanks for the info. Fred. I will not buy anything online. One of my quirks.
I have been buying my prescriptions at the same pharmacy for the last 12 years and the pharmacy has always had that particular pill.
Oh well I can spend my $127.00 in Mesa just as easy as in Payson.
I will change the rest of my prescriptions to the pharmacy where they told the truth.

    Hi Pat,
I buy my prescription drugs via mail order from Merck-Medco. I always buy the generic because they cost less. But I can order the brand name if I want it. I order online via email. You can go to the web site and check out the cost of the drug you need. www.medco.com.

I've had good fortune with buying online. I've had a couple instances where the item was never delivered. Both cases it seemed like Phoenix didn't know where Payson is. :-) The charges to my credit card were reversed without problem.

Did three pharmacies basically say “We can not get that brand name drug.”?

    mcdevin,
YES, or I wouldn't have said so.
Probably corporate headquarters won't let Walmart order it here because of senior citizens being on Medicare and most of the secondary won't pay for brand names. Same with the others.
I really don't know why it is so expensive as brand name it has been on the market since at least June of 1958.

and another thing mcdevim, check and see how many vehicles, copy machines or any other supplies the Town of Payson has bought or buys local.
Sorry I spelled your name wrong on the last post. Told you my fingers go faster than my brain. (:

Where would one find a list of merchants that the town is using? If they had a halfway decent WEB site I suppose they could post it there. They don't even have search function.

Try the new car dealerships for beginners. Office machines and supply stores. Call them, ask if the town is buying anything from them.
All the offices should have the same kind of copy machines not the brand at the whim of the dept head.
The following is my opinion not an accusation.
There should be one person who does all the purchasing and auctioning of old vehicles and what ever else they sell. That way, we only have to watch one person for kickbacks. (:
To many people buying things and to many credit cards held by town employees or at least there were a few years ago.

Didn't get my prescription in Mesa as I couldn't walk after taking my treadmill stress test.
Decided I would have one of the local pharmacies special order the medicine for me. I called one that said they could get it. Took in the prescription, had them check again and they said yes, it would be here Monday. About two hours ago they called and said no, they couldn't order it.
This after they told me twice that they could. Will get it in Mesa next week.
I think the corporations that own the pharmacies must sign contracts with certain pharmaceutical companies and can't order from others.
    buy local ? i tried all 5.
