I think police and fire are more important than parks.
D.A. George should worry more about the school system than parks to be unpaid baby sitters.
If the parks were more or less self supporting already they don't need a parks director to tell Charlene Hunt and the people that do the programs for kids how to do it. They were doing the job before he got here.
Think how much more money there will be for programs without his wages having to be paid.

    Pat,

I posted a comment after the opinion letter but it doesn't end up on this forum. I suggested that the parents who are concerned form a coop and maintain the grounds where their kids play and even have the kids participate. They can't expect govenment to do everything. If the space is provided and water provided for grass or whatever, then why can't the parents provide an hour or so each week in order that their children have exactly the kind of play area they would like.

Makes sense to me. Tax money should go to NEEDS first.

    Ruby,
I posted beneath the letters to the editor about 4 times before I figured out it wouldn't move over here.
Like your last e-mail. Sent it to my daughter and she called me right back to tell me she was a genius. She probably fibbed.

    Ruby,
I went over to the opinion and read your post. I like the one here better where you said for the parents to form a coop. Now I see you meant co-op.
A coop is what the parents need then they could just lock the kids in it. (:
