Are candidates supposed to campaign on the regular KMOG forum?
Aren't they supposed to have interviews on the radio with everyone getting equal time?

Endorsing someone was not my point.
I thought there was a law if one candidate spoke the rest got equal air time.
Maybe by having them on the Forum they are getting around that.
I know when my son ran for council every one got air time.

Pat,
Think you are right. That is why JD Hayworth had to quit his radio job as McCain was wanting equal time on the same station.

I don't think a private business must give equal time to anyone. I think they do so as to appear non partisan and give their listeners / readers both sides of the issue. That is only because they want as big a listener / reader base as possible.
If the law mandated equal time a business would have to put up signs for both candidates not just one.

Equal time on air unless the candidate is paying for advertising which they do.

Check the Federal licensing requirements for radio stations. I believe they have to give so much time to public service announcements and equal time to political candidates who are interviewed (not the paid ads, of course) and have to restrict foul language on their stations. They are subject to strict fines for some violations.
I don't understand how some of the “shock jocks” get by with the language they use.
