On the morning news: J.D. Hayworth former Arizona Congressman who will run against John McCain for the Republican Senate run has been endorsed by Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Wow! Now that may make this a very interesting race since Sarah Palin plans to campaign for McCain.
Will Arizonans send him a “Dear John” letter? I sincerely hope so since Mccain shows all the signs of being a total RINO.

Ruby,
I also saw that Cris Simcox, founder of the Minutemen Border Protection Group also endorsed JD. It is certainly going to be fun to watch as the lines are drawn by the various factions claiming to stand for all the same issues. On “illegal” immigration McCain loses big time. I'm just not certain that “the valley” hasn't been adequately populated by ex-Kalifornians who don't look so sternly on illegal immigration as does most Arizonans. Thats how we ended up with Janet Napalitano and that plays to McCains favor, along with his being the encumbant and having the support from the established political elite in Arizona. Time will tell if the “tea party” grass roots folks can overcome strongly entrenched political interests.

My contact with J.D was always pretty good since he was working hard on the illegal issue all the time he was in office. After I moved to Oregon, I found that he was working together with the Democratic Congressman from my district here on a bill to prevent amnesty.
I am not aware of other political activity he engaged in, but have to say he was always courteous to me and answered my mail and phone questions promptly. And I do know he wants to solve the border problem.

McCain has a habit of talking like a true conservative while he is campaigning, but acting like a liberal once he is back in office.
It's time for McCain to retire. When he does, maybe he can buy a nice little ranch down on the AZ-Mex border. I'm sure that a lot of those “hard working, undocumented folks” crossing into our country will be happy to stop by and say “Hola” to him and Cindy.
