Following a full morning of free throw shooting in the Rim Country Middle School gymnasium Saturday, champions of the Elks-sponsored Hoop Shoot were crowned by BPOE chairman Bob Troutman.
In the girls division, Breanne Davis won the 8- to 9-year-old crown and Caitlin Fruth took 10- to 11-year-old honors. There were no entries in the 12- to 13-year-old competition.
Among the 8- to 9-year old boys, Max Siverson was champion. Robert Neumann won the 10- to 11-year-old crown and Austin Gross the 12- to 13-year-old shoot.
Runners-up were Nic Creighton (8-9), A.J. Hilgendorf (10-11) and Brandon Kelly (12-13).
The champions are eligible to participate in the district finals to be contested Jan. 30 in Flagstaff.
Troutman said all members of the Elks were grateful to the youth, parents and middle school for their support of the youth activity. Troutman also thanked the Elk volunteers who helped with the shoot.
