Former Horn Stars Continue Soccer Prowess At College

As Payson High School seniors in the 1997 fall sports season, Ben Plumb and

Travis Byler paced the Longhorns soccer team to its first berth in the state

championship tournament.
The talented duo went on to earn a fistful of postseason plaudits from

coaches and athletic administrators.
Today, Plumb and Byler are playing strong roles on the Waldorf College men's

soccer team.
Plumb is holding down the same goalkeeper position he manned so superbly for

Payson High School.
Byler is playing stopper for the Warriors.

Waldorf College, located in Forest City, Iowa, competes in the National

Junior College Athletic Association and currently sports a 2-6-1 record with

four regular season matches remaining.
