The tribute to veterans on Nov. 11 at the Payson High School auditorium was definitely a winner and I must say "Thank You, Payson," to the flag chairpersons, students, all youngsters, Scouts, the school staff, and all those lovely people who attended. It really was "A Tribute To Glory." Many youngsters came over to us who were in uniform, said "thank you" and asked many questions about the military service. They made us feel just great, and I know the feelings went both ways.
The master of ceremonies mentioned many who hardly were ever credited for their deeds before, like the Gold Star mothers (they lost their sons or daughters in wars), then asked those to stand who lost their loved ones in war, then had the names of those who came from Payson and area and were listed as KIA's or WIA's.
To be honest with all, it was one of my proudest moments. It was an honor just being there and meeting with so many well-intentioned people. Again, thank you, Payson, for myself and all veterans.
