If you missed it at the Swiss Village Lighting Festival last week, you're in luck --the Payson First Assembly of God's traveling 24-foot Christmas tree will appear this Friday at Town of Payson's annual lighting ceremony.
Payson Town Hall lights up at 6 p.m., with thousands of twinkling lights outlining the Town Hall buildings and park. The area will be decorated with holiday characters, including some made by young participant's in the town Christmas in July program.
Children will line up along Santa Claus Lane, anxiously awaiting their turn to tell the Jolly Old Elf their favorite Christmas wishes.
Santa will arrive around 6:15 p.m., and children can have their pictures taken with him for free.
Along with the tree, the church's program features dozens of actors recreating a Dicken's era setting, with skaters and carolers and selected numbers from the "Nutcracker Suite."
Members of the Knights of Columbus will serve free hot chocolate, coffee, cider, cookies and hot dogs to the chilled crowd throughout the evening.
