Gun Controls Violate Second Amendment

I take exception to the editorial in the Roundup, "Gun-control laws making a difference," dated Dec. 3, 1999.

Obviously, you have ignored the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution wherein it clearly states in part "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Your analogy to driver licensing is certainly not germane to this issue. I respectfully direct your attention to the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Statistics prove that crime has decreased tremendously in Utah, Idaho, Florida, Arizona and many other states where concealed weapons are lawful.

How safe are the streets of New York City, Los Angeles and Washington D.C., where the most severe firearm restricting laws are in effect?
