Officers from around the county arrested six drivers Friday who were allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
Twenty officers from Payson, Globe and Miami police departments, the sheriff's department and the Arizona Department of Public Service blanketed the Rim country Friday evening during a concentrated DUI patrol.
Of the 108 motorists stopped that night, six were arrested for DUI. Those arrested had an average blood alcohol level of .164, over one and a half times the limit at which drivers are presumed to be under the influence of alcohol. Six other people were arrested on warrants or other charges.
The participating law enforcement agencies will aggressively target alcohol and drug impaired drivers during the holiday season.
