Also an Arizona resident, I found Jeff Wantland's (Dec. 21 letter to the editor) interesting. He reports that on his recent hunt he found no deer or signs (of deer), which he attributes to lions. He did find three deer killed that were fresh enough to identify the perpetrator. Wonder how the lions made three recent kills in the area where there are none?
His take-home message, though, makes good sense: Lions don't belong in the woods, cattle do.
