Play of the day for members of the Payson Women's Golf Association was a Mutt-and-Jeff formatted affair in which only par 3 and 5 holes were scored with one-half handicap.
At Payson Golf Course Wednesday, Laura Meyocks slipped past Blanche Nyberg for top honors in the A flight. Meyocks finished with a tally of 34.5. Nyberg turned in a 35.
In flight B, Lynn Kools' 33.5 was good enough for championship laurels. Jennie Stevens, with a 34, was runner-up.
Pat Sogan won the C flight shoot-out, carding a 29.
Trailing her in the final standings were runner-up Donna Baylor and bronze medalist Doris Lemmage.
Baylor tallied a 32.5 and Lemmage a 34.5.
In addition to her win in B flight, Kools was the closest-to-the-pin champion on hole 17, swatting to within 10 feet, 10 inches of the flag. Baylor won on hole 5, finishing 13 feet, 4 inches away.
