Mid-Town Arrest Monday Results In Eight Felony Charges Against Man

Payson Police charged a local man with eight separate felony counts Monday afternoon after arresting him near Chapman Auto Center.

Sgt. Todd Bramlett said police stopped the man, Clinton Sinanovic, 41, of Payson, after hearing a report of an altercation at 300 W. Bonita.

Bramlett said Sinanovic went to the Bonita residence to get some of his belongings from a former roommate when the two men got into an argument.

"The guy (Sinanovic) picked up a gun, but didn't point the weapon or threaten anyone," Bramlett said.

Sinanovic was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of a defaced weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia (two sets of weighing scales), transportation of marijuana for sale, misconduct with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and being a prohibited possessor (a convicted felon in possession of a weapon).

Bramlett said the amount of marijuana taken into evidence from Sinanovic's vehicle was relatively small, an ounce and a half, but was found separated out in baggies.

Sinanovic, who made his initial appearance in Payson Justice Court Tuesday morning, remains in custody in the Gila County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
