Don Nicholas and Dave Weaver hooked up to win the Payson Men's Golf Association Member/Guest tournament played May 22 and 23 on the Payson Golf Course.

In the two-day campaign, the first day's format called for combined low-net scoring. On the second day, the field participated in best ball low-net action. The combined two-day score determined the winners.

Nicholas and Weaver turned in a 183 to cop the crown over runner-ups Jim Furimsky and Jason Schwein, who finished with a 192.

Nicholas and Weaver also won both single-day events, taking the first day's title with a 131 and the second day's gold with a 52.

Furimsky and Schwein were runners-up on the opening day but not in the top four on the second. The third-place overall finishing duo was Sam Barker and Don Becker. The two tallied a 199.

Only one stroke behind were the teams of Roland Kruse and Lyle Murphy, and Dick Strunk and David Durham. Kruse and Murphy were declared the fourth-place finishers on a score card playoff.

Closest-to-the-pin prize money was pocketed by Sam Baker (hole 5; 9 feet, 4 inches), Skip Herring (hole 8; 1 foot, 7 inches), David Durham (hole 14; 2 feet, 3 inches) and Dave Weaver (hole 17; 4 feet, 9 inches).
