Flowers by June doesn't say it all. Owner June Dudley does a lot more than arrange flowers -- she also sells collectibles, plants and wedding items. And now, she's doing it all in a brand new location.
Dudley recently moved her operation from 805 S. Beeline Highway to a bigger shop a few doors down the street at 807 S. Beeline Highway.
"I worked at Safeway nine years," Dudley said, "most of the time in the floral department. I never thought I wanted to be in the floral business."
She said she thought about being an interior decorator, but had four children at home.
When she opened Flowers by June on Bonita Street in May 1995, Dudley's children were all in their teens. After she opened the shop, she and her husband, Bryon Dudley, a Payson native who works at Energy West, adopted another child.
"Now I'm a mother of five with two grandkids," she said.
In addition to flowers and plants, Dudley carries a line of Cherished Teddies, Russ and Gund items, Cottage Collectibles, wedding items, rentals, tuxedos, candles and balloons. She offers free delivery to Payson Regional Medical Center and Payson Funeral Home.
Dudley also tries to get involved with the community.
"I just try to help where it's needed," she said. She helps with Pop Warner Football and "things people need in the community."
She had an angel tree in her shop last year and this year is trying to help just one child, Katie North, an 11-year-old Payson girl who has leukemia.
"We're selling raffle tickets for a stuffed bear," Dudley said. "She needs chemotherapy and a bone-marrow transplant, and we're just trying to make it a nice Christmas for her.
"We can't do it all, all the time, but we try," she said.
Flowers by June is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. For information, call Dudley at 474-3434 or 472-9541.
