Payson Lions' Octoberfest Tournament Set For Oct. 2

The Payson Lions will once again sponsor their annual Octoberfest Golf Tournament starting at 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Payson Golf Course. Scramble tee off.

The tournament will include cash prizes for the first, second and third place teams closest to the hole, and a chipping contest. There will be drawings for prizes during a German lunch of bratwurst, potato salad and German chocolate cake.

Tournament director Dean Bulkley said, "Since we're all here to have fun, nobody will leave without a prize, and we'll be happy knowing the money earned by the Lions will come right back to Payson in sight-and-hearing programs, summer camp programs and leader dogs for the blind programs. We've been sponsoring these in Payson for over 25 years."

Sign up by Sept. 30 at the Payson Golf Course, or phone Bulkley at 474-2177 or George Spears at 474-1541. The cost is $50 per person, and $24 for Golf Club members.
