Payson police officers arrested seven juveniles and a pair of young adults in the Trailwood subdivision Saturday afternoon after they responded to neighbors complaining about noise from a party.

Officers found several teen-agers drinking alcohol at a house on Pioneer Trail, said Lt. Don Engler of the Payson Police Department.

Engler said the young suspects range in age from 13 to 20. All were charged with minor consumption. The 16-year-old boy who lived at the residence was additionally charged with seven counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

"It looks like they were just a conglomeration of kids, several from the Payson area, two from the Kohl's Ranch area, and one from Tonto Village," Engler said. "They had all been to the high school rodeo earlier, and after the rodeo, ended up at this house."

The seven juveniles were referred to juvenile probation and released to their parents. Chris DeVinney, 18, and Richard Estep, 20, were both cited and released.
