'Enough Will Never Be Enough When There's Money To Be Had'

Finally, I have found someone to say what I have been saying for years.

Thank you, Dave Engleman. If anyone ever hit the nail on the head, you did.

Every time I say, someone should stop this madness, I get, "you moved here, didn't you?"

Well I did over 20 years ago, and you know what, I liked this town just the way it was. I didn't set about trying to change it.

Back then, we had two fast food (restaurants), Kentucky Fried Chicken and Pizza Hut. Loved it then, love it now.

People seem to forget when we were selling Payson as one of the "healthiest places in the world to live."

How soon they forget why we all moved here in the first place. The cool summers, remember?

They forget that all the asphalt and concrete is going to hold the heat in, and it will get warmer and warmer up here, plus losing the trees to filter the air we breath, to say nothing of the shade.

They say you can't stop growth, and I agree, but when will it end? When we are another Prescott? I hope not. I know I'm getting old and won't be around to see what a mess we are making right now, but I have to tell you, our children will, and what are they going to say?

I think greed says it all. Enough will never be enough when there's money to be had.
