Why Are Wider Aisles Filled With Boxes?

We have a brand new Wal-Mart with nice big aisles.

I am just wondering why the aisles are always filled with boxes. I thought the purpose of wider aisles was to allow customers more room to shop. It seems that we always have to be single file to get around the boxes.

Sometimes, we even have to go a different way to get around. This was very difficult when I had to push my father in a wheelchair around the store, or should I say around the boxes.

Our Wal-Mart is open 24 hours a day. Why can't they stock their shelves in the later times of the night or early in the mornings, when people are not out shopping?

Thank you for our time.
