Last chance to sign up for Youth T-Ball & Girls Softball

We are currently accepting late registration for youth T-Ball and girls softball on a first-come, first-served basis. The T-Ball program is for boys and girls who are ages 5-7 as of Aug. 1, 2000. The youth softball program is for girls who are ages 8 -15 as of Aug. 1, 2000. The fee is $25 per child for each program. Season begins June 5, 2000.

Youth Soccer

There are a limited number of late registration slots available in the 10 to 12 year-old division. The fee is $25 per child. Games will be played Fridays and Saturdays in April and May. Participants will be placed on teams only where space permits, and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Swimming Lessons & Swim Team

Registration for all summer aquatics programs will begin Monday, May 15. Weather permitting, Taylor Pool will be available for open swimming Saturday, May 27. Lessons and swim team practice begin June 5.

Men's and Women's Softball Leagues

Registration for the Men's and Women's Summer Softball Leagues begins Tuesday, May 30 and will continue through Friday, June 9. Recreation and competitive divisions will be offered as long as a minimum of four teams sign up for each division. The fee is $275 per team. Games are scheduled to begin in late June.

We Want You

The Parks & Recreation Department is looking for responsible, mature and energetic employees to work as summer recreation leaders. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and able to work flexible hours. Call 474-5242, ext. 7 for more information.

Fishing Pole Loaner Program

Why not take advantage of the spring weather and the free fishing pole loaner program at Green Valley Park? The poles and mini tackle boxes are available at the Parks & Recreation office, 1000 W. Country Club Drive. You must be 18 years and older to check out the fishing poles, but anglers of all ages may use them. The program is sponsored by Arizona Game and Fish.
