The Marge Landra express continues to roll unchecked through the Payson Women's Golf Association summer season. After a long list of successes, the wily veteran's most recent conquest was Aug. 1 in a PWGA lo-net tournament.
Battling in A flight, Landra tallied a net 63 to easily run away with top honors over runner-up Shirley McLean who finished at 69.
In B flight of the Aug. 1 tournament, Lynn Kools played her way to the crown outdueling silver medalist Mary Kisseberth. Kools carded a 69 and Kisseberth a 71. In addition to the B flight win, Kools pocketed closest-to-the-pin prize money on hole 17 by swatting to within eight feet of the pin.
Joyce Goff emerged as the other closest-to-the-pin champion by finishing 13 feet, 6 1/2 inches away on hole 5. In addition to the victory there, Goff emerged as the C flight champion by tallying a 69. Dorris Lemmage was second, finishing at 71.
Judy Neal's 60 was good enough to win the D flight crown over runner-up Dee Orr, who finished at 64.
