Rufus L. "Pig" Pittman, 87, of Payson, Ariz. Died Nov. 28, 2000. He was born to William and Tamer Gatsie Ann Pittman on Jan. 4, 1913 in Enterprise, La. He married Mary Lucille Brooks in Sicily Island, La. on Oct. 19, 1936. Mr. Pittman came to Buckeye in 1939 and retired from the City of Buckeye, serving as superintendent of streets, irrigation, parks and cemetery. He and his wife moved to Payson upon retirement.
Survivors include daughters, Margaret Ann Pfunder, and Willie Brooks Wooley; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lucille Pittman, son, Richard Alden Pittman, mother, father, and five brothers.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1 at the Community Church in Buckeye, Ariz.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Community Church in Buckeye, Ariz. with graveside services at 3 p.m. at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park in Payson, Ariz.
