Agnes Winters (nee Schindhelm), 93, died Dec. 2, 2000, in Ukiah, Calif. She was born in Milwaukee, Wis. May 11, 1907. She worked as a telephone operator. She married Wilfred Winters and settled in Racine, Wis.
Mrs. Winters volunteered for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, American Red Cross and County Nursing Home, where she set up a shopping service for the residents. After retirement in 1971, she and her husband built a home in Payson.
Survivors include two daughters, Marlene and her husband, Bob Werra, of Ukiah, Calif. and Kathy Plehn of Middleton, Wis.; one son, Jerry Winters of Billingham, Wash.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Dec. 28 at St. Philip's Catholic Church with services to follow at 11 a.m.
Donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, a soup kitchen or charity of choice.
