Payson may be one of the top 10 retirement communities in the U.S., but it definitely isn't in the top 10 for entertainment.
We hear and read all the time that there isn't anything for the kids to do or places for them to go. What about the adults of Payson? If you don't do bars, bowling, bingo or the casino, what do adults do for entertainment?
I came home Tuesday, Feb. 15 after work, let the dog in, fixed something to eat, then sat down to read that day's edition of the Payson Roundup.
I got to page 3A and saw a picture of five teenagers in costumes, with a caption of "Ghost Story Played for Laughs." It's about a production of a comedy to be put on by the Payson High School drama department at the high school auditorium with dates, times and prices. I thought, why not!
So I went Thursday night. I can wholeheartedly assure you, that I will never again miss a performance by this group in the future! An hour-and-a-half of honest, clean and extremely humorous entertainment for only $3 and right here in Payson!
Hats off to the entire cast and crew of the Payson High School drama department. Because of you, what would have been another dull Thursday evening at home, became a night to remember, to smile and to talk about.
I will be there for your next performance, and I hope that more of Payson will be there with me. Keep up the good work!
