Homer Marion "Blackie" Jacoba, 78, of Payson, died July 20, 2000. He was born Nov. 3, 1921, in Little Sioux, Iowa and had lived in Arizona since 1988. A World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the European Theater. Before his retirement, he was employed by the National Park Service as an equipment operator.
Survivors include his wife, Lauretta Jacoba, of Payson; one daughter, Pamela Sue Whiteman and her husband, Michael, of Woodland Park, Colo.; one sister, Geneva M. Riley, of Onawa, Iowa; two grandchildren Karina Jo and Brandon Whiteman; two nieces, one nephew and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, July 22, with services following at Messinger Payson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery in Loveland, Colo.
