12-Pak Tops In Competitive Slow-Pitch


By whipping Waste Management 14-5 in the finale, the 12-Pak softball team headed by Sandee Koon, Jack Koon and Will E. Deitz captured the championship of the Town-sponsored coed slow-pitch competitive division tournament.

In the recreational division championship, John and Tanya Allaire's Payson Medical Resale defeated A Players 14-6 to claim the crown.

According to Sandee Koon, the 12-Pak team plans to take its diamond act July 4 to the Firecracker ASA Slow-pitch Tournament in Payson.

Also on the agenda for local softball buffs is the town men's and women's softball league which began play Monday evening.

At press time, town sports coordinator Teddy Pettet had not yet completed league schedules but said his goal was to have the regular season and tournament finales completed by Labor Day.

Twelve teams entered the women's division which will play weekday evening games at Rumsey I. Twenty-one teams are entered in the men's league which features two divisions competitive and recreational. Games are to be contested at Rumsey II.
