Alaska Boy Drowns At Roosevelt Lake

A 14-year-old boy from Alaska, who was visiting relatives in Tonto Basin, drowned Thursday at Roosevelt Lake.

The four-members of the Gila County Sheriff's Department dive team located the body of Coleman Richardson about 6:30 p.m. that evening.

"He was found in about 15 feet of water, very near where they believe he fell off the raft," said Sgt. Tom Rasmussen.

According to reports, Richardson and his brother were floating on a foam raft about 150 feet from the shore when the boy who didn't know how to swim fell into the water.
