Pine-Strawberry Historical Society meeting rescheduled

by Myndi Brogdon
The Pine-Strawberry Historical Society meeting was snowed out Tuesday, so the society will meet at 7 p.m. next Tuesday, March 14 in the museum. Anyone interested in preserving and promoting the history of Pine and Strawberry is welcome.

Volunteers are always needed to help keep the museum and our Strawberry Schoolhouse open.

Eighth-grade trip

The Pine-Strawberry Class of 2000 will raffle off a home computer system, VCR and gift certificates from local businesses during the school's Phoenix Coyotes' Dinner and Dance Saturday, April 1.

Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

You need not be present to win, but you must be there to dance the night away with Howling Tommy and his crew. The event is fast becoming a tradition for Pine-Strawberry students.

All the money raised from the raffle and dance will be used to pay for a class trip to San Diego, Calif. Sponsored by the YMCA, this year's trip will combine fun, education and a trip to the beach in the three-day event.

Tickets are available at the Strawberry Market, Uncle Tom's Kwik Stop, Payson Concrete and Cool Pines Cafe.

AT&T points for P-S

If you have AT&T long distance, you can call 1-800-232-8200 and ask to

join the Points for School Program. For every dollar you spend, the school gets five points which can be spent toward computer software and equipment.

Just call AT&T and tell them you want your points to go to Pine-Strawberry School, account No. 00041739, and help the school buy some cool equipment for our children.
