Payson gas prices are a big joke.
(During the week of) March 8 through March 13, my family and I made an emergency trip to Fort Hood Killeen, Texas. The gas we were using was octane plus, which is priced significantly higher than regular unleaded gas. We were paying $1.50 to $1.55 maximum throughout three states, which in itself, is atrocious. However, after we arrived back in Payson, we found we had been buying gas at a bargain price.
Payson's bargain stations, with prices of $1.73 and $1.72, are certainly not in the same ballpark as the rest of the world.
Payson's stations realize they have a captive audience and are certainly taking advantage of the situation.
