Whitehouse, Roundup Earn Press Club Honors

The awards just keep on coming to the Payson Roundup.

During the Arizona Press Club's annual awards banquet last weekend, editor Katy Whitehouse brought home three writing awards in the Small Non-Daily Publications category for: a feature on a family's crawdadding adventure (third place); a news story about the burning of the Punkin Center Bar (second place); and an editorial about burning the American flag (first place).

Whitehouse and her production team also went head to head against newspapers of all circulation categories to earn third-place honors for the Nov. 19, 1999, front page design of the Roundup, placing only behind The Tribune, which took first and second place.

The Roundup also earned honorable mention for design in all circulation categories for its Y2K Preparedness page.
