Book Signing Great Way To Build Library

Have you ever wondered what life would be like for a pioneer woman in Arizona? Have you heard about the plane that crashed in the Rim country with the famous MGM lion on board? Do you know the legends that make up Arizona's history and mystery?

Eight Arizona authors will be at the Payson Public Library this Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for a book signing party to benefit the new library building fund.

If you enjoy reading about Arizona history, get acquainted with these authors and their books:

Mike Anderson - Living at the Edge

Blair Morton Armstrong - Arizona Anthem

Stan Brown - Payson History

Lorraine Cline - History of the Tonto

Anna Mae Deming - Rim Country History

Margaret Furtkamp - Northern Gila County Cemetery Inscriptions

Marguerite Noble - Filaree

Marshall Trimble - Arizona Lore

When you meet these authors, we're certain you'll enjoy their unique blend of character and personality which is evident in their writing and in their lives. You'll not only be in for an Arizona treat, but your purchase of any signed book will help grow the library building fund.

And right now, because of a gracious anonymous donor challenge, any donations to the library between now and Dec. 31, 2000, will be doubled up to $100,000.

We thank the anonymous person who has made the library fund-raising efforts twice as good. We also thank the eight Arizona authors for their contributions to our new library.

We encourage all our readers and business owners to help the Library Friends take full advantage of this donor challenge. In the end, we will all be winners when we can walk proudly through the doors of our new community library.
