John S. McCaulley, 78, of Payson, died May 15, 2000, in Payson. He was born to John Henry and Sarah Adeline Friend McCaulley March 7, 1922, near Chandlerville, Ill. He was a former resident of Pekin, Ill and Peoria, Ill.
Mr. McCaulley married Ollidean F. Hadsall on Dec. 8, 1944, in Peoria, Ill and was a boilermaker in Peoria for five years. He then worked as a caretaker at Mitchell Sanitarium in Peoria for 25 years. He last worked as a stationary engineer at G & K Services in Peoria for 13 years, retiring and moving to Phoenix in 1979. He moved to Payson in 1988 and returned to Pekin in 1991. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ollidean; one daughter, Martha Sue Chapman of Frederick, Ill.; one brother, Richard W. and his wife, Jeanette McCaulley, of East Peoria, Ill.; three sisters, A. Lorraine Blanch of Peoria, Ill., E. Juanita Oest of Peking, Ill and M. Darlene and her husband, John Hess, of Moberly, Mo.; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Edward McCaulley.
Visitation was May 19 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, and services were held May 20 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Greg Mason officiated. Burial was held in Lakeside Cemetery, Pekin, Ill.
