Skating Rink Ideal For Teens

Editor:
In your MailCall, I note the boredom expressed by teenagers. I spent a summer in Vermont when I was 14. The only entertainment was a roller skating rink which had been built from an old chicken coop. It was the greatest summer for me.

Roller skating is a great idea for teen social activity. It provides physical activity, socializing and hopefully, a controlled atmosphere without drugs, etc.

Kudos to Lisa Pennington for refreshing my memory of my teens and good luck for teen activities in Payson. At our place in Vermont, the only music was (played on) guitars by local kids and a jukebox for dancing music on skates. The teens were in charge and it was just so much fun.
