Swimming lessons and swim team registration for all swimming lessons, swim team, adult lap swim and water aerobics will continue until classes are full. Weather permitting, Taylor Pool will open for daily swimming from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 27. Lessons and water aerobics begin June 5; adult lap swim and swim team begin June 12.

Youth T-ball, girls softball sign up

Last chance to sign up for Youth T-ball and girls softball: We are currently accepting late registration for a limited number of openings on girls softball teams on a first-come, first-served basis. The youth softball program is for girls who will be in the age range of 8 to 15 as of Aug.1. The fee is $25 a child for each program. Season begins June 5. T-ball rosters are full, but we do have a waiting list in case of cancellations. The T-ball program is for boys and girls who will be in the age range of 5 to 7 as of Aug. 1.

Summer tumbling camp

Register now for the youth tumbling camp for beginner tumblers who will be ages 4 to 10 as of July 1. Session I will meet from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; Session II will meet from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The fee is $15 per child. Class sizes are limited to the first 15 children per session.

Boys basketball camps

Registration is now in progress for two basketball camps. Boys who will be in grades 4-6 this fall are invited to attend camp from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. June 12-16 at the old PHS gym. Camp for boys who will be in grades 7-9 this fall will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., June 19 to 23. Registration is $25 per child at the parks and recreation office. Co-sponsored with Longhorn Basketball.

Girls basketball camp

Girls ages 8 to 14 as of Aug. 1 are invited to attend this camp from 8 a.m. to noon, July 17 - 20 at the old PHS gym. Registration is $30 per child at the parks and recreation office. Co-sponsored with Longhorn Basketball.

Tennis lessons

Youth and adults of all abilities are invited to register for summer tennis lessons. The classes will be held each Tuesday and Thursday, June 13-29. The class for children ages 6 to 10 will meet from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and youngsters ages 11 and older will meet from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Beginner adults will meet from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and intermediate/advanced adults from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Registration is $20 per person and begins May 22. Class sizes are limited to eight.

Men's and women's softball

Men's and women's softball leagues registration for the Men's and Women's Summer Softball Leagues begins Tuesday, May 30 and will continue through Friday, June 9. Recreation and competitive divisions will be offered as long as a minimum of four teams sign up for each division. The fee is $250 per team (not $275 as previously announced). Games are scheduled to begin in mid to late June.
