Snowy, icy roads caused a traffic accident Saturday morning on Highway 87 north of Strawberry, injuring three people and reducing traffic to one lane for about an hour.

According to Department of Public Safety Officer Tony McDaniel, 32-year-old Ida Navarrow was northbound on Highway 87, about twp miles south of the Zane Grey Highway, when she lost control of her vehicle on the icy road.

Jason Littlefield, 26, who was driving south, swerved to avoid a head-on collission with Navarrow's car as it crossed the center line. His car collided with the side of her car, knocking it off the road and into a tree.

Navarrow, who had multiple injuries, was air-lifted to Scottsdale Health Care-Osborn Hospital, as were passengers Ryan Itell, 26, who had a broken leg and hip, and Crystel Martinez, 20, who also had a fractured leg. Littlefield refused treatment. Navarrow was cited for failure to control her vehicle.
