Hundreds of motocross racers including a number from the Rim country will once again descend on the Payson Event Center this Saturday and Sunday for two thrill-packed days of off-road dirt-bike racing.
Gates open at 7 a.m. each day with practices starting at 8:30 a.m. and competitive race action starting at 10:30 a.m.
Fans can watch an estimated 300 riders face the bumps, jolts, spills and chills of the oval track. Classes include beginner, junior, intermediate, amateur and pro and will feature two- and four-wheel racing.
The race is part of the Holiday Blowout Motocross Series which features eight races held in Payson and at the West Valley's Canyon Offroad Park.
"Last year, we broke a record with over 300 riders," Cindy Vickers, the mother of one of the local riders, said.
"All the competitors thought it was great and they really enjoyed the cooler weather here."
Of the hundreds of riders, the race will also include many riders from Payson, Pine and Strawberry who are hoping locals will come and cheer them on to victory.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Admission for children 12 and under is free.
