One of the most popular auxiliary events at Super Bowl XXX contested Jan. 1996 in Sun Devil Stadium was the NFL Experience.
Days before the kickoff and following the game, an estimated 250,000 football fans young and old alike participated in the interactive, family-oriented pro football theme park.
A similar event, on a smaller scale, is held each summer in Flagstaff as a part of the Arizona Cardinals preseason training sessions.
The Northern Arizona event has also been a highly popular draw among football fans.
For the first time since Tempe hosted the Super Bowl, the complete NFL Experience event will return to Arizona.
To be held Nov. 3 to 5 less than a two-hour drive from Payson at Tempe Beach Park near Sun Devil Stadium the attractions will include bungee runs, football passing, catching, punting, "Look Like A Pro" stations, autograph appearances by the entire Cardinals team, junior training camps and Cardinals cheerleaders clinics.
Also, live music will fill the air on both Saturday and Sunday.
The event is being staged as a prelude to a Nov. 5 game pitting the Cardinals against the Washington Redskins.
Admission and parking at Rio Salado Parkway and Hardy is free.
