The Arizona Republic reported that the alternative fuels legislation fiasco would likely cost every Arizona taxpayer around $200 for a total cost to the state's taxpayers in the range of $400 million.
The Republic also identified Jake Flake and Debra Brimhall as among those legislators who took advantage of the provisions of that legislation to secure financial windfalls for themselves.
I was under the impression that Flake and Brimhall were fiscal conservatives who would strongly oppose any and all governmental "give-away" programs. It now appears that they regard such programs as fine and dandy if they put lots of money in their personal pockets. Shame, shame on them!
