Rock Yard On A Roll; Expanding To Show Low

Steve Rogers decided to open The Rock Yard because he was having a hard time finding materials for his landscape contracting clients.

Apparently he wasn't the only one, because just two years later, the company he co-founded with George Randall is opening a second outlet in Show Low.

"We've spent the last year developing markets in the White Mountains, and the time is right to make our move into that area on a permanent basis," Rogers said.

The Show Low outlet is expected to open for business Oct. 15, and will carry basically the same products as the original facility in Payson Industrial Park off Longhorn Road.

"We're primarily a masonry supply yard," Rogers said, "and we specialize in architectural stone, both manufactured and natural.

"We represent 18 quarries," he added, "and we carry boulders from one cubic foot all the way up to 69,000 pounds."

While most clients are contractors, The Rock Yard is also open to the general public.
