Gilbert Corzine


Gilbert Leroy Corzine, 85, of Payson, died Sept. 22, 2000. He was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Dongola, Ill. to Emory and Phoebe Dillow Corzine. He married Mildred Woodard in May 1941.

Mr. Corzine was a veteran of World War II and spent 22 months in England, France and Germany. He served at various Air Force bases during his years in service and retired from Williams Air Force Base in 1970, living in Tempe, Ariz. for more than 20 years before moving to Payson in 1982.

He served as a deacon of First Southern Baptist Church in Payson, as well as First Southern Baptist Church in Tempe, Ariz.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred, of Payson, one daughter, Debbie and her husband, Dale Zamrok, of Gilroy, Calif; one brother, Troy Corzine of Dongola, Ill.; and seven nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Sept. 26 with services following at First Southern Baptist Church in Payson. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27 at East Resthaven Cemetery in Phoenix.

Memorials may be made to First Southern Baptist Church in Payson.
