I have just read "Progress" and am impressed by the journalism and photographs.
The first section on government presents the town and its attractions past, present and future with no mention of church.
The second section praises business and development with no mention of religion except for the one small church that bought an ad.
The third section lauds education and our schools with no mention of Sunday school.
The fourth section gives attention to our neighboring communities, ignoring their churches.
The fifth section exalts local attractions but nothing to feed the soul.
Section "F" praises many local people but there not a preacher among them.
May I suggest that next year, the Roundup staff prepare a seventh section entitled "Religion" and feature the work of the Payson Christian Ministerial Fellowship?
This organization sponsors the following programs and more: the senior citizen weekly Bible study; Kohl's Ranch open air chapel; the hospital chaplaincy program; the Town Council meeting open prayer; the Law vs. Grace Basketball game; the Easter sunrise services.
Should not we encourage faith and support these activities?
