There were no obvious signs of violence, foul play, or any other factor which might have contributed to Mark Antonio Hoyos' death.
The autopsy turned up nothing.
Even now, all that Payson Police Department investigators know for sure is that the 27-year-old Payson man was found just off Tyler Parkway.
A passing motorist caught a glimpse of Hoyos' shorts and shirt Sunday morning, and upon further inspection, discovered the body in an open area about 50 to 100 feet from the road.
"I have no idea how he died. None. Zero," Sgt. Tom Tieman of the Payson Police Department said.
"That's what's really confusing.
"Right now, we've got to wait for a toxicology report, because that's the only thing that will tell us the cause of death. But it'll be four to six weeks or more before we get those final results."
Although Hoyos has cousins who live in the Payson area, Tieman said, his closest relatives are "pretty much spread out all over the state.
"But we did manage to locate and contact one of his sisters," the sergeant said.
No further information was available at press time.
