Winona G. (Kistner) Sullivan, 87, of Payson, died, Aug. 3, 2001, at her home in Payson. She was born Golda Julia Winona Nyreen July 19, 1914, in Sioux City, Iowa to Charles John and Minnie Matilda (Peterson) Nyreen.
Mrs. Sullivan was a homemaker and married John T. Kistner, Feb. 27, 1932 in Dakota City, Neb. He died July 8, 1951, in Sioux City, Iowa. She later married Timothy M. Sullivan Jan. 3, 1956 in Sioux City, Iowa. He died March 16, 1992 in Mesa.
She lived in Sioux City until moving to Drayton, N.D. in 1956. She then lived in Mesa from 1991 until she moved to Payson in 1992.
She was a member of the Methodist Women's Group and was active as a Sunday School teacher for many years in Drayton. She also was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Payson.
Survivors include three daughters, Marcella Cochran and her husband Jim of Drayton, N.D.; Rhonda Shortridge of Payson; and Sharon Hanson and her husband Ray of Drayton, N.D.; one stepson, Jim Sullivan and his wife Barb of Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Fern Bartle of Sioux City, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one infant son, one infant daughter, two brothers, one sister, three half sisters, one half brother, three stepbrothers, one stepsister, and one stepson.
Visitation, with the family present, will be from noon until 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home, in Sioux City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home in Sioux City, with Rev. Alex T. Washington officiating.
